MANGA MATERIALS

Manga is the equivalent of comics but in Japanese terms. When drawing manga there are some special materials that are used by the professionals but I suppose if you are a novice you can just use the average art materials from your local art store. It would be more than enough for your purposes and cheaper as well.

PAPER

In Japan, manga artist use B4 sized paper which is about 26 by 36 cm long, with 18 by 27 cm inside (the total drawing space). Usually the paper weighs around 110 or 135 gsm (grams per square meter). These are the kinds hat are thicker and more absorbent than the normal photocopy paper. The manuscript paper is ALWAYS in light blue because that way when the original manga is photocopied and then printed the lines do not show up.

manuscript.gif (59850 bytes) This is a VERY BIG real A4 sized 21*28 cm when printed (at 59850 kb) It has all the grids lines pg no. and etc just print this with your printer it should be great for novices. Use it as a simple manuscript. I've done the scan and it took me ages to do this but I think it's worth it because I don't have to pay as much. The ink shouldn't be a problem because it only uses lines.
